This begins one of my favorite times of year. My favorite part is trying to locate all the bucks who survived the season. And while it aloears that virtually all my bucks have survived and are accounted for, i did get an unexpected surprise yesterday morning, when a 5.5 yr old buck i named Ruger, came home. My last oic of Ruger was mid November 2022. I had just killed the buck he ran with and actually scared him out of my yard one morning when inwent out to take a leak off the porch. He went crazy snd tore out. After that. Nothing. Not another pic. Figuring her met his demise , he was completely off radar and then , 2 unmistakable pics on the other side of the farm yesterday. Just a big cull, but im exxited to see him at 6.5. Who knows, maybe my son will get s crack at him in the morn (but i doubt it).


Here is the first oic i ever got of him, mid September in s freshly disced field. He had to be 3.5 minimum when this pic was taken in mid September od 2021

Honestly me killing him doesnt mean much, but i would love to get his pic again next fall when he would have to be 6.5 or 7.5
