I have the commander model for off duty carry and it is awesome. It needs night sights and that is all. Very accurate. I want a full size one now.

I searched for 2 years to get one, and I finally gave up and settled on a Springfield Range Master 1911. I talked with a Ruger Rep at the NWTF convention 2 years ago and he said they were turning out only 50 per day at that time, compared to the cheaper semi auto pistols that were cranking out nearly 200 per day. He said that the parts in the 1911 were so tolerant specific, that they had to be perfect, so it was taking a lot more time to build.

I shot one recently and absolutely loved it. Amazed at how well I shot it being the first time. It had a couple of ftf with some reloads that had a very pronounced step in the bullet shape at the mouth of the case. But the full round nose cheap factory stuff ran perfect. This one is fairly new gun so it likely needs some break in rounds.
