I saw one of these today at the NWTF convention at the Ruger booth. I figures it would be a heavy, bulky rifle. I was very impressed with the feel of it and how light it was. It had a very smooth action. The Ruger rep said they were moving them as fast as they could build them. This one might just go back to the top of my "want list".

This amazes me. The Frontier was practically the same rifle except for the large box magazine, and they didn't sell well.

It's the Tacticool, I guess.

The Ruger rep said that a 5 rd mag was available, but it comes with a 10 rd mag. The 10 rd mag to me seems too bulky, but the rifle itself was a sweet thang to handle. I just wanted to carry it home from the show. I will have 1 by mid summer. That is the only caliber (308) that I don't currently own a firearm in. I figured I would let them cool down a little bit before jumping out there. They have only been out since December.

Knight, have you seen and held one in person? I didn't think as much of it when I got the e-mail from Ruger a couple of months ago,,,til I saw and held one at the show last weekend. You could probably by several different "good" guns for the cost of this rifle, but any good rifles these days will set you back 600-1000 new.
