seen one online last night,I aint owned but 2 Rugers a MKII 25-06 and a Target 223 and they both shot real well with the 25-06 being a tack driver.

I`ll be in the market for JW a rifle in the near future and leaning this way.or a CDL 260 or 25-06,I`ve just always wanted a Roberts,,maybe Rem will come through in time if not I may get another Ruger.

Have an older Tang Safety Ulrta-Light 77 that shoots darn well.

The Hawkeye I looked at a while back should be a good one in the 257 Bob as well, much nicer rifle than Reg 77 Mark 2.IMO.

Thats said I might be tempted to get another big green 700.If it were the CDL SF in 257 Bob or 7X57mm,Unless I run across a Classic in them at the right time.

The only thing I HATE about the Ruger Hawkeye is the cheap, ugly, matte finish they are putting on the new Hawkeye. I MUCH prefer the beautiful deep, gloss bluing on the original M77s.

I hate this trend toward matte finishes. Gloss bluing has never scared any deer I've hunted! The matte finish is just a cost saving measure companies are using; I hate it!

If I buy a Hawkeye, it will be stainless and synthetic...not one with that stupid matte finish.

I always thought the 257 Roberts would be a neat little round to mess around with. It would be a great round for my two kids to grow into and should be easy to reload.

75 V-Maxes at 3600 should cover anything coyotes down and 100 NBT at 3200 should cover everything through whitetails,,what else could you need for mid Tn.

I don't think one would get those # out of a Factory Roberts, but I ain't tried them weight pills in mine yet.
