Ruger discontinued m77s

Seems ruger sent out an email that they are temporarily discontinuing Thier m77 17 series, 22 series, 44, and 357. Their ad says this may be your last chance at getting one. It may be a marketing ploy but I'm not sure. Maybe they won't permanently do away withthem

Kind of sucks I've always had intentions of owning a 22 mag and a 17 hornet

I'd love to have one of those 44 Magnums myself. Years ago when they 1st came out with the 22 Hornet 77's I wanted one real bad but couldn't find one. I called all my wholesalers over and over for months and nobody had one in stock. Then I started seeing bad reviews about poor accuracy and cooled off on getting one by the time they were actually available. I saw some theories that the accuracy problem was due to the two part bolts two halves not being machined with their end surfaces truly perpendicular to the centerline of the part. I have no idea if that was true or not. There are a lot of wild theories floating around on the internet that may not be 100% true. :)

I do hope Ruger isn't going to drop these models though. I hate that they have made the Number 1 such a limited run rifle. But then I know that a company has to look at profit first. The wants and whims of a few of us gun nuts who want these oddballs that don't sell well are not their primary focus. Speaking of the Number 1, the currently available 7x57 makes me drool. The price sobers me up real fast though.
