I committed a cardinal sin.. I stripped the mounting screws on my Ruger 10/22 (aluminum receiver). :( Sent to Ruger.. they had to scrap it and send me a new one.
The bad news is.. it cost me 30 shipping.. and they are going to have to send it to an FFL (new serial #) which costs me another 25..
The good news is.. they upgraded me to the 10/22 takedown for only 37$ more.. The total cost is still about 1/3rd of the cost of a new rifle but I can't complain.. especially on a mistake I made!
They received my gun on Monday and called me back today with the takedown ready to ship to an FFL. Not bad at all!!
