Rubs and scrapes '"glow" to deer?

20 or so years ago I seen this product. It claimed that deer could see into the U-V spectrum. It said that modern laundry soap had U-V brighteners in them...and that it made your clothes "glow" to deer. I got some and tried it. I was amazed at how deer reacted around me...it was like they couldn't see me.
Could have been coincidence...don't know. But on multiple occasions...deer would just walk right up to me...like they could see something..but didn't recognize it.
Anyway...the product got hard to find for awhile and I stopped using it.
I found some this past summer (much easier to find now)...and treated my hunting clothes...we shall see.

Been using it for 20+ years. Try looking at your clothes under a black light after using it. BIG difference.

Except, if your hunting clothes have EVER been washed in a detergent with "brighteners," the damage is done. You will need to use a UV-retardant to take out the brighteners. And "brighteners" are just chemicals that cause the fabric to reflect more UV light.
 
Just ordered a UV flashlight that says it's in the 395nm range that they say in the NDA article produces a brighter glow. I'll test it out as soon as I get it. Hopefully it'll also work for blood trails, but we'll see.

I use their "Sport wash" on my treated clothing.
Just for good measure...I'll even wash a load of regular laundry with it just prior to my hunting clothes...to hopefully clean out any brighteners in the machine.
 
I just went into my closet with door closed and shined my hunting clothes with a UV/black light. Everything looked pretty ok except for one shirt and three pairs of pants. All 4 of those articles are realtree camo pattern and cotton. They glowed BRIGHT!!! All the other stuff looked nearly black and some of the leaves in the patterns shined a dull orange. All of the stuff that glowed is my early season clothes.
