Rubbing Posts - How Many?

I cut some fresh cedar posts to make artificial rubbing posts to install around the property. (Over the years they have absolutely wiped out the cedars and younger pines.)
From reading about how Lee Lakosky does it, he puts one out in the open in a food plot, and it attracts bucks.

Has anyone done this, and how many posts is good, as in 1 post per 10 acres, 20 acres, etc.

Neat idea and I suspect a buck/s might hit them but I have to ask why? Seems like a lot of work for a buck to randomly use them as a rubbing post which most likely will be done at night. I doubt that it will be a draw deer in like a lick/food source.

I'm fixing to make a few.of the horizontal rubbing post , I'm going to put one on every large oak flat I hunt. If you haven't seen these look them up on Google or you tube "horizontal rubbing post"

I'm putting them adjacent to plots.

Looks like a waste of time to me .Seems like there is just to many trees for a buck to rub for him to pick out that to rub.

On this property they don't hit seem to hit anything except pines or cedars. Definitely have favorite species.
I actually went to a different farm to cut these poles because they have stripped the bark from all mine.
I put one post in last night (didn't do the licking branch part) so it will be interesting to see what happens. I'll put a camera on to watch.

I think if I was going to try this I'd strap some kind of licking branch up top. That's what really gets their attention.

Lee doesn't just randomly put these up, they usually are in a food plot location, within bow range of a stand site he has

I definitely wouldnt say it "attracts" bucks, however they will occasionally use it when in the food plot.
