hello all, this will be my second post here. have been trying to find a forum thats close to where i live and i think i have found it. my question is when is it to late to put rr corn in the ground? it is still wet and i am hoping to have my corn and soybeans planted within the next 2-3 weeks. when do you all think it is just absolutely to late to plant these, thanks.
 
July 1 is the latest that i have ever planted rr corn, had no problems at all planting that late, all you will really need is the rainfall,

if the rain in my area does not slow up, located in West Tn, it will be late June or first of July before i get any plots in my area planted this year
 
with beans you can probably go later, they might not make a bean, but deer can browse on them as they are growing, ask soybeanman @ eagleseeds.com
 
Your corn will suffer more than your soybeans at late plantings. Usually due to drought stress during reproduction with shorter plants and smaller ears. Late planted soybeans will do fine if you use a late maturing soybean. I planted our Large Lad RR Forage Soybean on Aug. 3 last year in our test plots and got 11 nodes at 30 inches tall. This is a tall plant to begin with. If I had planted a MG 4 or 5 like the farmers plant, it would have been closer to 18 inches tall. You can plant soybean into July with no problem. Your plants will be shorter and yield will be lower and they will not produce as much green forage as the later forage types. There will be a lot of late planted soybean this year with all of the high water and frequent rains.

extremely worried! had another really good downpour on yesterday and still having a hard time getting in my plots of RR CORN AND BEANS in. am i still ok with the rr corn at this late date? if no more rain, will be around the first or so before planting.
