I sprayed my fields out with Gly 4 last weekend, assuming we are gonna continue to have rain,Im gonna check the weather on Friday,Im gonna plant my plots this weekend. What effect will the Gly 4 have on the seeds if I plant a week after spraying?None I dont think. What do ya'll think?

Chaneylake is correct. Roundup will do nothing to seed. It has been posted on here before that it will kill seed but that information is wrong. If it is sprayed at to heavy of a rate it could actually have a reverse affect on seed and create a weed resistant to roundup. Using to low of a rate can cause the plant to burn down and not completely die. This can also cause a plant to be resistant to roundup or the generic Gly-4. Farmers are having some trouble with some weeds doing this now because of the use of roundup year after year. They are having to mix in other chemicals to knock out the resistant weeds.

We sprayed ours this past weekend with Gly 4 FH. The bad thing is, just would out I wont be able to get back there until Labor day weekend. We have never waited 3 weeks to prep and plant after spraying. I hope the majority of weeds dont come back up in that long period of time.

i like to wait at least 7 days ,thats what the recomendations for roundup says, but i don't think it really matters there just covering there butts. i like to see what i sprayed good and dead also.that sometimes takes two to three weeks .

JC: What is your typical wait time between spraying and ground prep?

Alot of people go about it several different ways.

Typically, this is our process, though we did it a little different this year. But we usually:
1) Plow
2) Disk really fine
3) Spray
4) Normally wait a week, sometimes 2 weeks
5) Disk another time or 2
6) Spread seed
7) Culti-pack

That is a good process. After the first disking allowing the weeds to come up and spray before they go to seed.

It works well....Been doing it for years. Here is one of our food plots from last year using the before-mentioned method:
