Roundup around Southern CrabApples

I wanted to kill the weeds around my souther crabapples that I planted in the spring. I was going to weedeat around them and then possibly follow-up with Roundup. Any risk the Roundup will kill the tree? The trees are only about 2-3ft tall. Thanks.

if you do not get any roundup on the leaves you will be ok, be careful with the weedeater and do not peal the bark off of the base of the trees

I HAVE SEVERAL BLUEBERRIES,TAME BLACKBERRIES, ETC AND WHAT I DO TO AVOID ANY PROBLEMS IS TO APPLY THE ROUND UP WITH A PAINT ROLLER. YOU COULD ALSO USE A BRUSH BUT THE ROLLERAND HANDLE SAVE YOUR BACK.
