I tried Chickn breast again this past weekend at Reelfoot on yo yo's. I caught 1 gar and 4 turtles, and no catfish. First time ever to get skunked on yo yo's for cats. I'm having second thoughts on chicken breast. :(

I would think with water temps the way they have been that cats would have started their spawn back in the middle of april. The water temps on the cumberland were in the low to mid 70s the first weekend in April. That was the main channel over 40 feet of water. And by may 5 it was 81 on the same water. Granted, up within 5 miles of the dam ,the water temp on memorial day in 15 ft of water was 76 .... A guide I go with down on wheeler lake took off from around the first week of may -June. He has been on them pretty good for the last two weeks!!shsimons said:If I had to guess, the chicken breast isn't the problem. It's the spawning action going on. There's a reason why the best trophy catfish guides in the south don't book trips in June. My grabbling buddy is killing them on Chickamauga pulling them out of holes by hand. They'll be back in a few weeks! Keep it going.
