I have to admit this has personally been my worst season in over 20 years. I haven't seen many deer, between my wife and I we have seen one mature buck and that was on our very first hunt of the season during bow. I managed to kill a doe during bow season and for the last week I had decided to kill another doe if I had the opportunity. Well I haven't seen any until this afternoon when I had to go to a friend's farm to kill this one.

I hear you. It's been the strangest season that I have experienced in a long time too.
 
It's very very tough hunting in certain areas of unit cwd. I can't tell if the pressure has gotten to em or there or there's just not many left.
 
Gz, usually a year with a lot of good bucks killed is followed by a year of rebuilding. Been there done that. We've only had 3 mature bucks on my main farms this year, last year I had 8 (but 5 were killed by us and neighbors). Hopefully you have several 3.5yos this year for the future!

It's been tough. I hunted Hardeman and my sightings were way down. When we would drive out at night there were no deer in the fields. I saw around a dozen deer in 3 days. I'm used to seeing 10-30/day the past few years. Really discouraging.

We're falling into that category at our place. Killed 4 good bucks last year and had 1 good one on camera this year. I got lucky and killed him opening day of muzzleloader on the other side of the farm from where we had pics. That said we've hardly hunted it as all due to other commitments. That was the only time I've been this year until this past weekend.
