Rosebush question.

I need to trim my Cut Rosebush's. How low to the ground should I cut them?

You should trim them to a height that will be acceptable after the spring growth. You can go as low as 6" off the ground, but I don't suggest it. When pruning, cut just above an outward facing bud. With careful bud selection you can have the bush grow outward and up without growing in on itself. If you want to thin the canes, cut the canes you are removing down close to the node. Be careful not to damage the node. The node is the fist like ball at the ground level. be sure to cover any large cuts with pruning seal to prevent disease.

Bush hog to the ground and then burn!

My wifes rose bush rips my arm half off every time I mow the yard.

I hate that thing.

Another tip for a rosebush is dig a hole next to it early spring and throw some carp/suckers etc in the hole and cover it up. It will bloom more roses than you can imagine.

LMAO! Its funny how things change. When I was a kid, I absolutely hated rosebushes. They would reach out and bite me every time I got close to one. Now, I love them!
