While lowering my bow down from stand this evening the parachute cord I use broke...... and my bow fell about 10 feet to the ground. Bow tech is ok! Everyone check your rope. Don't be next

Happened to two guys I hunt with on the same morning last year. Both had been nicked by broad heads or some other sharp object. Cost one of them a bow and the other had to resight his.

Always check the haul lines.

For me, 550 cord is too light. I prefer braided nylon rope- I think it is about 3/8"- that comes in camo colors. I haul a lot of stuff around and 550 cord is hard on the hands when I pull it up or let it down. It also stretches to the point where I worry that a sharp edge or weld on my stand could cut it.

Same here. I typically buy my rope at Northern Tool or a local hardware store. For the most part, I could care less about the color of it. I try to get green, tan, brown or another darker color, but that is not a deal breaker for me.

I think I got the stuff I'm using at bass pro or dicks. I don't really care about the color either as long as it isn't white.

Yeah it was 550 I've had it for a couple years, and used it all season from that stand. I always leave 550 on all my lock ons. I hate to even think this but..... Someone might have helped it out a little..... You just never know anymore. Just shot my bow all is well

I never use a rope anymore! I got tired of pulling it up thru limbs and leaves and making all kinds of racket and stuff! And it never fails as I'm lowering my bow here comes a pack of deer and have to start pulling it back up!! I never had it happen but I guess rope could break!!

Here is what I came up with! I attached gun holder to my stand, LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. So now my bow is on my stand at all times, even when I am climbing that way if I need it, it is there!! I also have it there to hold my bow while hunting!! (most of the time bow hunting I am standing and holding my bow but sit to let my feet get some blood back in them)

Here is a picture from my stand so you get an idea of what I'm talking about!!

I hope this make sense to you!! I really enjoy not having to pull my bow up anymore!!
