Hatched 9 chicks in February and 5 were roosters. Of the 5, 4 are pure-bred Ameraucana and the 5th Ameraucana mix. Ameraucana hens lay greenish/blue eggs. These birds can be cross bred with a dark egg laying hen (i.e. Coco Maran) and get an olive egger. That's what we were shooting for along with more green/blue egg layers but most were males so we'll try again. As we have one dominant roo already we don't need to introduce competition.
