Rod Tip Broke

What are my options for fixing this? I don't know what size tip to get. I don't have anything to measure something that small to determine what size to get. Can I cut the rod back and the next eye? If so, what would be the best way to cut it? The sucky part is, this was on a new rod I never have used. This may be common knowledge to most fishermen but I don't hardly ever fish anymore and never did that much.

if it didnt break to far from the tip u might be able to reuse to old tip. u need to file/sand the rod flat on the end and just make it look good. some sanding on it and the old tip might work

It probably didn't break an inch from the end. How would I go about getting the piece out of the old eye and how do you secure them to the rod?

Walmart has a kit with 3 or more rod tips in it.Real easy fix.

Just heat the tip and the broken pc should come right out. Put a little bit of hot glue(from wal-mart)on the end of rod and push eye back on. Make sure it lines up with rest of guides.

Does it have thread over the tip as well? you will have to rethread it as well. It's not hard but a little practice to get it right.

I don't know where Moss is, but if it's close to Knoxville I will fix it for you for free.

Threading the tip is pretty simple, I have used thread and needle from the wifes sewing box. Put a dab of clear fingernail polish on the tip to hold the thread in place, then wrap it with the thread. I will then use the needle to get the end of the thread under the last few wraps with the needle. Once that is done, seal the entire wrapping with clear fingernail polish.

I'm not sure if it has thread on the tip or not. Its not here with me at the house. It's a Cabela's Gold Label rod if that helps. 7mm08, thanks for the offer, but I'm like 3 hours or something away from Knoxville. Moss is Clay county in north middle TN. If it weren't for a few trees I could literally throw a rock and hit Kentucky. Might could anyway if the leaves were off lol.

My wife's rod tip broke, and we just cliped it back to the next eye. She actually likes it alot better.

Not sure what type of rod you have airman but recently we broke the tip off a St Croix MojoBass baitcasting rod...We called St Croix and they made us pay shipping to get the rod back to them. They evaluated the break and after concluding it was a defective rod they sent us a new rod. Possibly, you could call the maker of this rod and get the same results.

I use the fuji guide tips from Walmart, but I hate the glue, it is weak and will eventually twist under time. Use Gorilla glue instead, I haven't had any slip since I started using it.
