The water I fish for em hasn't gotten just right yet and sightings have been limited. But today, I caught the first of the season. I only put two in the boat with this being the largest at 7.5 lbs. The other was just a shade over 6. Not normally fish I would photograph and post but hey, they were the first this year. I saw plenty more larger fish but couldn't get them to hit. Encouraging to see they are starting to show up. Hopefully big ones will get more plentiful and hungry. Caught on a gold redfin.

They hitting on priest? Been thinking about throwing some chicken livers and redfins or flukes. They on the points yet?

I'd never ask for a man's specific hot spots but I've seen you post a lot of rockfish pics so maybe you could help a bit. Are they showing up in the lower Caney yet? I'd like to head that way one morning on low water with my kayak and get one on the redfin but don't want to make that drive if it's too soon.

Very few and far between in the caney so far.
Saw 2 small ones today. No takers. They guys who were fishing for them seriously that passed us hadn't caught any at 9am.
