Got some nice rockfish wade fishing the caney over the summer. Had a 14 fish night this year all in about 5 hours ( all 14 was over 20 lbs). Biggest all year was 42 pounds. But it seems like they have about moved out of the caney. Wade fishing these things is awesome such a rush to be in the water with these fish after dark and having them hit topwater. guess its time to start hitting the musky and deer hunting now.

Yea there are still some in there but the the numbers are dropping. we were getting 4 to 5 a night. now we are lucky to get one. the twenty pounders are fun. i caught my first this year which was a 40 pounder and i was hooked

Btw, I'd love to see some pics of those 40lb fish!

Yes, without pics I'm afraid it didn't happen. :)
Aahhh what do you know about catching rockfish anyway...

Same as you CATCHDAWG, I remember you posting up some pretty nice fish this year. I just think there are bigger fish swimmin' where I fish. ;)

well guys ill get pics posted soon so everyone knows its not a lie. btw i got the 40 pounder the night we got around 15 in 4 to 5 hours

I believe you as well, but love seeing the pics. I have heard tell from a friend that knows a couple of guys that wade fished the Caney this year that were catching lots of big fish. I guess it could have been you. I may have even seen you once myself this summer on the river. One day I passed two guys wading near dark near the ball fields in Carthage. Could that have been you guys? My biggest this summer was in the 45lb range as well.
