Heading out to the ATA show in a couple of hours.

Noticed that on Facebook Pigman Brian Quaca is now shooting Rocket Broadheads. I know they have been out for years but it looks like they have been recently acquired by Trophy Ridge.

Anyone ever shot one before?

I sometimes shoot Steelheads and love them. I'd heard that they went out of production last year and cant find them anywhere. Going back to Stingers for a year or two.

 
I use to shoot rockets a lot ....I found that if you hit a deer perfectly they are awesome and will open them up and no blood trail problems...but on a shoulder shot or a quartering shot I wouldn't recommend them at all...jimo I think they loose a lot of energy when they hit and have to slam the blades backward on impact...

Yes. They can also be tied closed with a few wraps of dental floss if you want to practice without dulling the blades.

In today's modern age of expandables I see no reason in going backwards in rubber band technology. Nope! Nadda! Not this guy.
 
I've taken several deer with Rocket Sidewinder 100 gr. Back in the early 2000's. Did deal with alot of blades and tips needing replaced AFTER a kill but that's somewhat common with expandables (of that era). I had no complaints with them. :2c:
