Left work early yesterday to get in the stand with an excellent wind pattern. Got in at 12:30, sat down, turn my head around, and two does pass by @ about 40 yds! :D They bedded down at 60, and stayed there for about an hr before moving on. Right at dark I was scanning a deer stump :D when a deer passed my crosshairs! Could barely make out it was a doe, but more were following so I went to "ease" the safety off and lost control of it and it "clicked" and one blew once and they lit out like a tarnader! Felt good to finally see some deer again after a few trips wo seeing a single one tho.

I got in the stand around the same time. Only difference between your hunt and mine is that I did not see a single thing.

The only difference between your hunt and mine is that yours really happened, and mine was all in my head

I hope to be able to get off the road and back into the woods soon, especially after all of the crap that I had to put up with last week with the poachers.

I have a love/hate relationship with deer bedding within sight of me. It's neat. If it's a hot doe it's bait. If it's a buck it's interesting. If it's a shooter buck it's painfully interesting. In any case I don't being locked down scared to breathe for what could be hours. I'd rather them move on through with something following.
