the bottom two shots are the first two without adjustments out of the box and onto the rifle. I was using the "17" yard method that someone wrote about>>>maybe wakeman?......i quit when i finally got it up to the black square and then shot at 100 yards and was 1/4'to the left and 1" high of center. Didnt take a photo of that one as i was a little lazy about walking back to the target and i was covered in ticks. this set up is as follows

100grns of 777 loose.....i will use pellets in season
350 hornady FPB
winchester primers
I will do more testing later this summer but i found that cleaning between shots rather than waiting is the better combo for now. You can see three of the shots stacked and this while making adjustments. Do you guys find much variation in 100 grns of powder to 100 grns of pellets?
I havent and i took 50 test shots last year. mixing them up.
 
100 grains of pellets is equal to about 85 grains of loose 2f triple 7 powder. Be sure to sight the gun in with the pellets if that is what you plan on hunting with. Better yet, get some powder tubes and hunt with the loose.
 
So you sighted it in for 100yds? I get awesome results at 100yds with the FPB's and 2 50gr Triple 7 pellets..
 
yes, took one shot at 100 yards and was 1 inch high. I am thinking of staying with 100 grns of pellets though.. i just dont like dealing with the loose powder.
 
Thats me,pellets are so much easier to use,especially when your out in the field for a fast reload. Have you shot the FPB's at distances greater than 100yds? My CVA Kodiak shoots them great at 100yds,1inch groups,but when you back it up to 150yds,they start doing funny things. Like the 1st shot with a clean barrel would be like 17 inches low and then all other shots with a dirty barrel is only 7 to 9 inches low. Im planning on doing some more longer range testing wtih them in the coming weeks.

great looking rifle,i like the 777 max pellets,2 are rated at max.having shot 295g powerbelts at a lot of different ranges i found that the rainbow starts at 125y with my gun & a clean barrel will not shoot as high at 200y as it will after having a shot or 2 thru it.i reckon a 200g sabot would shoot a lot better at long range but i like a full 50 cal hole in my deer :) .almost all of my shots are 100y or less .
 
I've shot an optima they are nice shootin guns. looks like its treatin you well also. Good luck, kill a big'n
 
No, i decided after having shot a MZ for many years now that i would limit myself to no more than 130 yards with it. I dont like the performance with them past that. i set up to see them at that and under in most cases.
