rifled choke tubes?

carlsons, trulock, briley, and other aftermarket choke tube manu.s have been making them. I do plan to buy one or two, but how effective are they? surely better than smoothbore, but not as good as rifled barrel, but toward which does it lean? And are they good for home D for slug/buck loads?

i don't think you are supposed to shoot rifled slugs thru rifled chokes/barrels. the rifling is built into the slug designed for smooth bores. the rifled chokes/barrels are for sabotted slugs.

at the distance involved in most home defense situations, choke will be irrelevent.

This is where i get confused: does the slug matter, or barrel? they kinda both do, and thus u have 4 dif combinations of ammo/barrel. and the Judge's rifling causes the .410 to spin outta control and thats why i asked if it was a good idea...
I might stick with my smoothbore, throw the IC choke in and see what happens.
