I've got a DPMS panther AR 10 308 with a carbon fiber forestock sold a few yrs ago as a " lite hunter" model
I don't think it's made anymore and I'm trying to determine a value. It's wearing a Zeiss conquest assembled in Germany scope right now.

Price thoughts?

No clue on the rifle but that scope in decent condition regularly sells for north of $600-$650 on ebay. I'd venture a ballpark guess of $500-$700 value on the rifle but am not sure.

If I am not mistaken, the gii platform is not the same as the lr series frames and uppers, so this would not be interchangeable with the more popular dpms platform. Yours being a carbon fiber model, it is probably worth closer to a grand if not a little more. I believe new, those sold for around 1200 when they were available. Of course condition would drive the price one way or the other.

Deets on rifle lightweight for what it is less than 40 pills down tube to date. I can't remember what I paid for the darn thing but wasn't cheap.

That sticker shows MSRP of $1699. Pretty sure retailers had them out between $1200-1500 depending on caliber and which store it was. I have a dpms prairie panther 20 inch carbon fiber upper in .223, very very accurate and lightweight. I wouldn't ask any less than $1000 for your rifle alone if it were mine. Probably $1800-1900 with the rifle was it sits with the mounted scope. Glws.

That's about what I thought. Got a friend asking about it and I don't want to cheat either of us.

Price thoughts?
I had a LR-308AP4 and sold it to buy a 308 Recon LR-GII. I think they are as accurate as you will find for the AR platform. I never had any problems with function of either. As a lot of us, I have several different kinds of long guns. I would never want to have to pick only one long gun to keep, but in the threads asking that, I always pick my 308 AR. Not only will it do it all, it will do it all well.

I'd say around 800 to a grand for the rifle without the scope. (You can see what they actually sold for on GB) If you like the scope, I'd keep it. Obviously, it's up to you and how well you want to treat your friend. I've paid near retail for a used rifle that was hard to find, but I'd never pay near new price for any optic, the stores are full of them, and an optic has caused me to have to pass on a few rifles I wanted.

Just my thoughts.

This is true. My son has hunted with one for a decade. Minus the hideous flash suppressor of the one you posted. Back then without scope it was a grand bare bones, probably more.

Actually, I had the barrel threaded and a muzzle brake installed. Now that I've got a suppressor I'll probably replace the brake. I've got shoulder issues that limits my ability to absorb recoil.
