I had to send 2 back to Bushnell to have fixed. One was a Bushnell 3x9x40 and the other was a Simmons shotgun scope.

Anyway the Simmons had something internal wrong with it.where you look threw it and couldn't see nothing but blur. But the Bushnell had something wrong with the zoom on it. it wouldn't zoom out to the 9th power like it had something that had it stuck.

But anyway they told me to send them back to them and they will see if they can fix them or replace them.

Bushnell has some great customer service.
 
Sometimes. I sent in a Simmons Whitetail Classic (Made in Philippines) with a front objective that wouldn't adjust. They sent it back saying it was repaired. There was nothing done to it. I had to send it back a second time. They sent me another one. It had a different reticle, but I didn't really mind.

The Tasco side of their company is much worse. They will not warranty the Japanese made scopes, so usually it's not worth sending in a broken Tasco.

I hope things work out for you. I have to say they have done pretty well for me, but nothing like Leupold or Burris.
 
yea i heard that. i have a few tasco's laying around and one on my muzzleloader. that one on my muzzleloader seems to hold up pretty good i got it sighted in and ready to go this next muzzle loader season.
 
LOL i heard that but it's what came with the rifle. so the way i look at it if it works let it be until it breaks then replace it to something else :laugh: but anyway i'll have these two fixed and if they break again then it time to upgrade to something better.

I've got one of the Simmons Whitetail classics on a 22-250 and I like it. Pretty good optics for $100 I think.

Yes, they are. I have a couple, one in 4-12 and the other 6.5-20. They are still made in the Philippines and probably the best ones I've found for the money. I think they're basically made for midway to sell.
 
I wish they still made the aetec in the phillipines, that being said I have just about converted all my guns to Nikon or Weaver, some dang good scopes
 
I started the process of upgrading optics a few years ago. "Cheapest" ones I have now are Nikon Prostaffs, which I still consider the best bang for your buck.

I'd also look at the new Redfields.THey are good scopes for the money and if you watch you can find them used for $125.They are made by leupold and have their lifetime warranty.

I use this website http://www.elitedealseeker.com/index.cg ... y=gunstuff and just type in what im looking for and it searches several gun/hunting website's classifieds section and lists them for you..Pretty handy.
 
LEUPOLD VX3- Like a john deere tractor, they are great products with great service that hold their value

I would sell the old scopes, buy good scopes, then you don't need backups.
 
i was thinking about that but what i get out of the old scopes might bring one price of a good scope thou.so i figure i would just save them for back ups and buy the good scope out right.

Then go threw all the hassle of selling and shipping the old ones.
 
well my Simmons shotgun scope is waiting on parts but the bushnell scope they said it would cost atleast 69.00 dollars to fix it and i said it's not worth that. so i'm looking now for a used nikon or leupold scope to mount o my 30-06 for this season.
 
well called and talked to Bushnell about my scope that wasn't repairable and they offered me a other scope because the one that wasn't repairable was discontinued. So they offered me a other 3x9x40 scope for 56.82 with shipping and everything.

what would you all do replace this scope or just upgrade it to a better name scope?
 
I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but there's no way that I would pay them to fix a scope that should be covered by a lifetime warranty.

It sounds like their customer service is getting worse all the time. I've already stopped buying Bushnell and Tasco. I've seen lately where folks were having trouble with Nikon customer services as well. I've never had to send in a Nikon, so I can't speak from experience.

Personally, I will still purchase Leupold, American made Burris, or Nikon. I'm not crazy about the new Burris in my price range. I may grab a Simmons Whitetail Classic for a rimfire.

I've heard great things about Minox and Zeiss, but they're a little out of my price range.

yeah i called today and they told me that they can't fix the scope i sent them. so they offered me a newer model scope for about 59.00 bucks today and i might go ahead and get the new scope just to put on a rim fire or something.I'm looking now for a nikon or leupold scope to replace the one that went on my 30-06.

So if anyone knows anyone that wants to sell one or whatever please let me know.
 
I'd say it's a Trophy or Trophy XLT for $59. If it's a Trophy XLT I'd give $59 for it. I've got one on a ML that's pretty much on par with a Nikon Prostaff.

dh1984, how much are you looking to spend on a new scope?
