Poser....Sweetgrass has great shrimps and grits. That was my order the last time I was there for brunch. Mimosa was good too.
 
I think next on our list of expensive dinners is going to be Andrew/Michael's Italian Kitchen.

I played lacrosse with those guys in high school, and hated them both tremendously. It pains me to patronize their restaurant, but I hear they do incredible things with food.

Me too....now I'm part of that elite club. We both walked away mad that it had taken that long to finally eat there.

It pains me that you played lacrosse. I've emailed this thread to my aunt and uncle. They live round abouts Memphis and we are planning a road trip to visit over the summer and go by my grand uncles farm where I cut my teeth deer hunting.

Iris might have to be on the hit list.
 
Hey now, I played lacrosse before it was a bunch of hipsters in shaggy hair. It was for the degenerates that didn't grow up playing football. Man, we had fun. And you talk about ROUGH! Some of the football guys were trying to give us some crap, so we had them put on pads one day.....needless to say, they shut up quick. Lacrosse is just as rough as hockey, just on grass. And Michael Hudman was an incredible guy to watch play. He could about throw the ball in one ear and out the other from 40 yards away, and you'd never know it.

But about Iris, I would recommend it to anyone. Let me start you a list. We'll see what Poser has to say:

1) BBQ: Go to the original Central BBQ for the best 'que in town (Try the turnip greens)
2) La Guadalupana: Mexican food for Mexican people that want to eat like momma cooked it
3) Iris: Fancy dinner you put clean pants on for
4) Little Tea Room: "Southern" food with an interesting twist
5) Ferraro's: The best pizza in Memphis

If you want to order a $15 tamale plate from Blues City Cafe, that'd be fine.

headed to memphis on business in a couple weeks.
will definitely number 1 on your list. will skip number 2, i hate mexican food (dog food over corn chips). 3 is too fancy for me. will definitely hit 4, have heard great things about it and their tea is a thing of legends, i have been told. I have ate at 5 and will be back for sure.

That's why #2 is so good. Real Mexicans don't eat dog food slathered over corn chips. This stuff is incredibly good. TexMex is what the Gringoes eat.
