I need your help. This deer has been on camera the last 3 evenings, including this picture from 7 last night. There's a good chance I might get a crack at him tonight. What's your guess for age and score? His neck has blown up over the last few days.
Thanks!

Thanks guys. I was guessing around 120, but I've seen over 500 pics of him. Luckily I didn't have to make the decision last night. He didn't show up til midnight. The biggest buck I've had on camera this year showed back up last night also. He hasn't been on any of my cams since the 1st. He is a stud! I had 200 pictures after dark last night. Lots of heavy sparring. One bout lasted at least 7 minutes.

With the depth of that buck's chest, and his neck thickness this early in the fall, not a chance that buck is only 2 1/2. At least 3 1/2.

I thought I'd revive this old thread to give an update.

Several of you were really close. I put the tape on him today.

113 1/8 gross
3.5 years old

Found him dead.

I'm right so infrequently, I need to crow about the few times I am! ;)

Really sorry to hear that buck was found dead infoman jr.
Oh now I seriously doubt that (the being wrong part).

It's not all bad. I let him walk at 5 yards while holding my .300 win mag. I had my chance at him. Now I have a euro mount in my office to remind me of the encounters.

That's very cool.
Maybe the outcome is even better than had you killed him rather than passed him up, considering you found his remains.

At least this way hopefully he got to spread his genes a little longer.

I'm not so worried about him spreading his genes as I am this guy.
