Seeing Steven's post on the Remington 700 reminded me that I really want to replace the trigger on my 700.I have some issues out of it after I bought it.I got it used about 8 years ago,and someone had cleaned it alot and used alot of oil that gummed up the trigger.And I had it cleaned by a smith,but it is very stiff,very stiff.I've been looking at the Jewel triggers,but what are some other triggers I should consider?
 
Timney if you don't want to spend the money for a Jewell. I have one Jewell and I Love It. But like Rubberduck said the right gunsmith can make a Remington trigger feel amazing.
 
I'd try some Rem action cleaner or some gun scrubber and give it a good blast before you give up on it. Chances are someone used WD40 to lube it and it got gummy. Seen it several times.
 
IMO the factory trigger is better than a Timney,,the Rifle Basix can be adjusted lighter but I doubt you would adjust it low enough to tell any difference,

I want a light crisp trigger pull..With the current trigger,once you do some shooting at 200+ yds,my groups are bad to pull to the right..I suspect that it is from my trigger pull.
 
The Timney will serve you well in a hunting application. I`d like to ask if you are going to part with the factory one? I have messed with them for years, and could use another.

I'd probably part with it..WHen I do the swap out i'll keep you in mind
