Remington Question

I think I might know the answer to this but it's been a long time.

Will a Remington L/A 721 fit in a 700 L/A stock. I seem to remember something about the stock needing to be opened up for the saftey,not sure.

I have this McMillon and nothing to do with it,tried to sell it but nobody wants it. So it's sitting here looking like a half dead critter and I'm feeling bad for it,so I thought,maybe I'll build a hot rod 721.
