I found a remington 7600 in 270 a person is selling for a good price with a scope has anyone shot many of these I have only shot one and this was years ago.

I have seen 3 and hunted with one. A 270 (killed a deer with it) and was a beast and killer to say the least. The other two, a 35 whelen, and a 300 savage, I never shot, but the owners loved'em and still have'em.
 
The older ones where the 760, with the auto being the 742. I worked all summer back in 77 to buy one. It was about 200.00, and I got a 30-06. Killed lots of deer with it, iron sights, till someone stole it from my truck. i still think about it sometimes. the older ones where really good guns.
 
I like all 6 of my 7600's. I have 2 25/06, 1 30/06 standard size, 1 30/06 carbine, 1 243, and a 270. All are extremely accurate. The one thing that makes them so accurate is that they have free floating barrels. They are as accurate as most bolt guns, for that reason.

u want to part with one of those 25/06's??
 
I think i will hang on to the 25/06'S. One is the blued version with wood stocks. The other is the Remington Special Run, called Kool Blue. They only produced 250 of these in 25/06. I haven't even racked the action on that one.
 
huntinman , i havent even got to shoot mine yet but i have notice the forearm is really loud , you ever had trouble with one making noise in a tree stand ?
 
A rattling forearm is the ONLY downfall to the 7600's. The only one of mine that has a very noticable rattle to it is the 270. I even bought a different set of furniture for it and it still rattles. It's in the mechanics, not the wood/ composite material. I spoke with some stuck up Remington reps at the NWTF convention a few months ago about it, and they said there was nothing that could be done about it. No one else has an answer for it either. You will be pleased with the accuracy, once you have time to shoot it.
