i've already sent in 2 and will do the rest later after the holidays
i don't want to qualify for the darwin award
even though i've done an extensive amount of trigger work in the past
i don't don't want to be culpable in the event something does ever happen

I'm going to buy Timney drop-in triggers for $109 and in the end have a better trigger system anyway. The way I figure for a minimum amount of money I'll have certainty, not be without the weapon, and have a better and adjustable trigger to boot.

Sent mine in about 3-4 years ago and they redid the safety so it does not have to be off in order to work the bolt. Mine went off when I was closing the bolt while hunting. Fortunately I had gun pointed in a safe direction. Still have not been able to get the stain out of my underwear from when it happened. At that time that was all they were doing to fix the problem. They refused to install updated trigger.

I too had sent mine to Remington to have it modified so I could open the bolt with the safety on. I later realized that was a good idea but it didn't fix the real problem of the trigger. I installed a Timney. I hope it applies to my M700 muzzloader which has a silver trigger.

If your wondering if a rifle bought recently has had the recall issue fixed by Remington look at the BOLT RELEASE. If there is a VERY SMALL center punch mark on it, it has been back to the factory and repaired. Regardless of whether it has a smooth or ribbed trigger. I recently purchased a new 700 BDL and was curious. I just got off the phone with them. FYI

THIS IS FOR RIFLES MANUFACTURED May 1, 2006 through April 9, 2014
