I've been fooling with this rifle for over a year. Was ready to give up. I have loaded every Benchmark and Varget combo known to man with 55 gr bullets. It was about a 1" shooter at best. A couple weeks ago my buddy wanted me to load him some reduced loads for his 8 year olds 7mm-08. I had 2 pounds of H4895 stashed for my 7-30 waters. That's the powder Hodgdon said to use for the 7mm-08 loads. I decided to try some 223s with 25 gr and 55 nbts. Never would believed bullet holes were touching. Sometimes you get lucky.

My AR in 5.56/.223 likes H4895, as well. It is a very versatile powder, and not necessarily a "master of none."

I bought a new Leupold 6-18 off eBay to go on this one. Hoping to get it sighted back in and thru the chronograph this week. I have a Ruger American predator 223 that's going to be my "truck gun". I hope it's not as much trouble. My expectations are not very high for it. Should make a good coyote killer.
