Has anyone replaced an extractor on a Remington 760 bolt? The extractors are mounted with a rivet, which requires a special "anvil tool."

I appreciate any tips that can help me with this task. I wish the bolts were still made, since they didn't cost much more than an extractor and rivet....

Might have to prowl the web looking for an answer to this one.

For sure I would send an email to Remington asking for assistance. Maybe even a blueprint or something to help.

Thanks Dave,

I'll give the Remington team a call. I've gone to their website, located the part numbers, and found available parts at Numrich. I now need to find a way to install the special rivet without the $60 special bolt "anvil."

Got it figured out...

One can use the save rivet anvil for the 700 series bolts... it's not that hard, just have to have the special tool.
