Re: Reloading powder?
DA---
243 Remington 700 ADL (1985) 1 in 10 twist
RL19
43 grains, 45, 47
Fed 210M primer
R-P brass
90 grain Accubond .007 to .010 off lands
Barrel cold steel clean to begin. 4 fouler rounds 95 gr NBT over 45 gr RL19.
Accubond groups had no discernible pattern, all were over 2" CTC at 100.
Results were so uncharacteristic of this rifle that after first group I checked all screws everything was tight.
Since my eyesight is so miserable i had my Son shoot the next group. He shot, waited, shot, sat and stared through the scope. After a few moments shrgged his shoulders, snugged the rifle up, round 3 downrange. Same kind of result. His comment was "it doesn't like this combination". We set the rifle aside to cool down, fired group 3 about 20 minutes later, same result.
Grabbed my old load of 95 gr partitions on top of 47 gr max load of RL19. 3 quick shots. Back to MOA accuracy.
Did not think a 5 gr bullet weight difference would have such results......Plan is to test other powders-RL15, Varget, IMR4350, Maybe IMR4064.
Or, I might just discard the Accubond approach and roll back to 95 Gr Partitions.
I have yet to load th E-tips.
Partitions have always shot well in this rifle, killed a ton of California piggies and muley's with it. Max IMR7828 was the key, 100 gr partitions.
