For index trigger releases, I use a Carter RX2. I like a crisp trigger that I can't feel any "give" in. I also prefer hook style releases over caliper style jaws. But that's just me.

I use an old tru-ball caliper style, can't even remember the name. Which ever one you pick make sure it is adjustable both for trigger poundage and length, and make sure you shorten it to where it is not on the tip of your finger and it is deeper in your knuckle.

I shoot a Scott Rhino XT. It is a single sear hook release and it can be set with a little heavier trigger pull so it is a little easier to shoot with proper back tension. I also like the hook style because it is easier for me to hook onto my loop without looking when I have a deer close.

The Carter Like Mike is an excellent hook style index release. I shot one for 2 years. The adjustability is excellent with a trigger weight from 1-10 lbs. It's a great release especially executing back tension.
