Henderson Co ratio is off. By two deer! :)

I think current regs are working well and we're reaping the benefits. Since the antlerless harvest has increased over the last few years the antlered hunting has improved drastically IMO.

Maury will keep falling with the doe kill off its only a matter of time

The only deer overpopulated areas I've seen around here in Wilson County are around heavily PEOPLE populated areas that aren't hunted much, if any, anyhow. But I guess the theory is that nobody is gonna kill too many does where there aren't already too many does. But if that's the case, why is it that a guy can't shoot a doe one in Cheatham WMA with a gun unless he's a kid and it's juvie weekend? I know it's because the deer were hit hard with blue tongue and the population needs to come back. I'm just pointing out that one strategy is being used on a wma to bring numbers up, while the thought is that there's not negative impact in a county if unlimited doe harvest is allowed, even when only certain areas of the county are overpopulated. It stands to reason that the guys that lose out are the ones hunting state-wide regs. public land or your typical smaller tracts of ground where you can't keep your neighbors from killing "your" deer....which is most of us!!

Anyhow, having hunted a good bit in Cedar Forest this year, I can tell you that I didn't need the guy in the forestry office to tell me that deer sightings were down. They'll keep on going down, too. Where do you think the doe groups will gravitate to when the acorns are about gone? Private fields outside the forest boundary where they can be quite easily killed three a day, carte blanche. Come October, though, we'll be saying that oaks with acorns AND droppings under them shouldn't be so hard to find, just like this fall, probably more so.
