Anybody going this weekend?? Heard a lot of birds are on the lake. My group always goes and slam em, first year I'm not gonna be able to go in a while.

I have seen several posts on facebook about the birds being there and if the pictures / videos are actually from Reelfoot they are definitely there.

Guess I will wait 2 more weeks before I start.
Kinda silly that I don't hunt Reelfoot since I can be there in 45 minutes but I just have heard way too many stories about hunting or TRYING to hunt there. Just not for me.

I'll be there Sat morning. We have blind 10 and looks like a full blind opening day. Hoping for a good day. Looks like 36 in the morning so it'll at least feel right.

We go with a really good and well known guide, so we usually don't see the crazyness, see a lot of it at the boat ramp that's for sure.

We managed 8 today. 2 mallards, 2 spoonies, 3 teal, and a black duck. Had a great day. Heard of one blind that got into bluebills and kept having them pour in, they wound up with a kill count over 50.

From what I have heard it sounds like all the people working on blinds and scouting Friday pushed a lot of the ducks off the lake and on to the surrounding Refuge or out of the area.

I guess they don't / can't close it for the week prior to the opener huh?
Never thought about that.

I bet you are right though, I bet that did scatter them pretty good.
