Red eye

The red eye were on fire in the creek today. Only caught a few small one and the rest were above average size that I usually catch there. Other than the red eye I had 2 small mouth that were tiny. Red eye are probably my favorite fish to catch and put up a fight especially on ultra light gear when the get this size.

good ones, I like those fish. although they never fight much past the initial strike. they hit hard, and then open their mouths as you drag them across the surface. Sure beats catching skunk. they are also good eating

I caught one on Normandy the other night that probably weighed at least 1-2 pounds...

I caught one at night on Chilhowee lake a couple of years ago that hit a big, broken back redfin I was fishing with on top. He was big.
