Wish I had never spent a dime on red flash cams. Deer still notice the red flash even when the camera is 10ft up a tree. It's not as bad in picture mode, but red flash is a huge liability in video mode.

At least strictly for deer pics, either traditional white flash or true black flash is better than red "low-glow".

Unfortunately, like you, I've learned that "the hard way". Of course, hearing those false advertisements for "infrared" or "invisible" flash contributed majorly to those purchases. First one I tried was a Cuddeback No Count, and it was truly no count. No telling how many spots I ruined with that camera set on video mode. Nearly every deer would look up at it, then take off running.
 
Agreed. The deer seem to see it at 6-8 ft up, but above that I've gotten some mature bucks cruising thru that were unaware of it. I've had a few "one time" pics of mature bucks too, that saw the red, then fled. :shock:
