i just bought a rossi muzzleloader ,i wanted to put a scope on it but the hammer hits the bottom of the scope. thinking maybe a could try a red dot ,any one have any advice?
Maybe taller rings with a hammer extension. Or a long relief scope like a scout or handgun scope.
I have no experience with this situation or rifle but hope to help.
I don't know how badly the hammer is hitting the scope, but my Dad had a similar problem years ago. He unscrewed the hammer, heated it with a little torch and used a pair of pliers to bend it so it didn't hit it anymore. Worked great for him.
