95-100 grains of loose 777 powder in my 50 caliber CVA Firebolt...shooting a 245 grain Knight SBT (made with Barnes).

I am shooting a 250 sabot with 150 gr ( 3 pellets) of 777.
Have known others who shoot it with 100gr ( 2 pellets)
and shoot better groups.
To answer your question, yes 100gr of powder is enough.
No doubt about it.
 
80grns BH209 and 300grn Hornady XTP Harvester Sabot in my 50cal Omega. No crud ring, last shoot loads as good as first shoot without cleaning between rounds.
 
My ole Renegade dad hunts with I always shot 80 grams of black powder, with a patch and ball.Thats what dad shots today!

Now I shoot 90 grams of Black Mag 3 with a 435 grain White boatail sabot, through my White rifle. Man what a hole it makes! :whistle:
 
How much 777 lose powder, equals 3 777 pellets?
Does lose powder burn better allowing less to be used?
And more inportantly, is lose powder more accurate than pellets?
 
find out what grain bullit you want to shoot then on your powder start at 120 grain then go down 10 grain at the same rang until the bullit falls then go back up 10 grains an thats what your ML will shoot corectly without wasting powder an blowing your bullit off target.
 
110 grains of 777 and 290 grain Barnes TMZ. A deadly combination in the Omega. It's a tight fir and stubborn to load after the first shot, but who cares? Dropped dead with first shot.
 
been using 130 777 with the hornady 350 gr fpb i believe...considering completly re testing everything this fall.
