I am looking to possibly replace the scope on my 30-06. There is nothing wrong with the scope on it as it has held zero for many years but not super clear past 200 yards. Looking to stay under $300. This may be the rifle that I take on the TN elk hunt where I could shoot out to 250. Most deer hunting situations will be 100 or less but could get out past 200 but nothing over 300.

i would say the minox za3 which is a heck of a scope for 150 from camerland ny
especially for those older eyes where the fast focus eyepiece is a god send

I picked up a Zeiss terra 3-9-42 at bass pro Thursday it was $400 it rang up $299.97 the sales man said it was on clearince. And there is $50 rebait. Nikon has a sale on all there scopes to

Don't overlook Vortex scopes. I have a Crossfire 6-18x44 and have been very happy with the long distance clarity (600 yards).

I bought a Nikon Monarch UCC BDC 3x9x40 a couple years ago. I put it on my Weatherby .270 Mag. Im sold. Since then, I replaced my MZ scope with a Nikon and both my dad's rifles with Nikon. The cool thing about Nikon is their Spot On technology. Just type in the scope and ammo your using, and it gives you all the data you need for trajectory, etc.
The Monarch was regular $350. I got it on sale at Richard's for $250. I would try and find a scope on sale and get more for your $. Also OpticsPlanet has really good prices. Good luck.

depending on how old you are i would definitely go with the fast focus because i for one can no longer adjust the leopold to where i can see clearly through them
