Recommend covering the red light on camera?

Would you guys recommend putting a piece of tape over the "status" light on my trail camera? I can't see why it serves any purpose out in the woods, and I'm concerned about it giving away the camera's location to anyone who might want to steal it.

Is this pretty common practice?

Obviously in low light the flash will activate and there's nothing I can do about that. Just wondering.

Eventually I'd like to look at some of those security housing units as well, but I'm not ready to drop any extra dough on camera stuff this year.

I do, but I didnt have any tape when I put it out but a bandaid works pretty good! It has stuck for over a month now!

I'm not worried about bothering deer, I'm worried about people
