Ready for spring

It's gotten to the point that I look forward to fishing in the spring more than I do turkey hunting anymore. Bass fishing in particular.

I'm looking extremely forward to those February warming trends that get the water temps up in the low 50's and the pre-spawn largemouth out on the prowl. I had some un-real days in February last year. Hoping this year will be the same.

I mainly fish the middle portion of KY lake. (Duck river to Big Sandy) Anybody on here fish that area much?

I feel the same way...I'm ready to get to my TN home and out of this Michigan weather. Bass fishing and tourneys are more exciting to me than turkey hunting...even sold my turkey gun. Feb in Michigan is not even close to the weather breaking...lakes are all frozen still...I'm ready for some redbuds, frogs chirping and that spring smell.

Yeah I hear ya. I've talked to you aout Ky Lake quite a bit last year. I haven't really fished the lake much that early in the year. I definitely need to get better at fishing offshore structure during the summer months. You were on fire last year.

We usually put in at Buchanan's in Eagle creek and I fish from there down to around Lick and Leatherood and parts of Big Sandy. Never been anywhere else but those parts.

I never stop fishing. I usually catch my best fish(size) in the winter months.

Yes my partner and I had a great year last year. Alot of it was because of the lack of hydrilla in the middle of the lake.

For 5 years or so prior to last year the creeks and river ledges were getting thicker and thicker to the point that most of the fish were uncatchable. So there were a bunch of them getting big and old. When the water level got so high in early May it nearly wiped the grass out. There were TONS of 5lb fish out there to be caught and we caught 'em! So did everyone else though. It was a killer post spawn.

The pre-spawn was really good too. We kinda discovered a pattern that was unusual but worked and we were about the only ones on the lake that were doing it. Hopefully things will fall back into place again this year.

I'm ready for some fishing and some slightly warmer weather. I'm looking forward to taking a few days off in March to do nothing but fishing.

I've never fished KY Lake, but it's on my list of things to do. I'll get to it someday!

Already had some good days on the Buffalo, Problem is now over the next month it will be hard to decide between the Buffalo, Duck or Ky. Lake.
