Ive recently began refilling my thermacell butane cartridges and got to thinking about the pads....my idea was to soak them in code blue estrous scent and somehow drying them without removing the scent...then during the rut when mosquitos are less use the estrous pad for continuous scent....anybody ever try this
 
I searched a few other sites and there are posts that say this will work, especially in colder weather. Good idea.
 
I think they make pads that are specifically for scent release. I'm sure this would work as well as any scent dispersal method. My only concern with this (and any scent) is -- if they can smell the scent right beside you, cant they smell you?

Remove brass fitting on an empty bottle with a pair of pliers.....then hand screw a sheet rock screw into the one way check valve and once it bites yank it out with the pliers.....re insert brass making sure all 3 ribs click in and there ya go.....you have to find the right butane refill tip though a can with assorted tips or mag torch butane can fits......cheap ronson butane tip wont work

Thermacell makes a unit specifically for this with a bigger pad. I've used them and a lot of other scent dispersal systems. So far no luck with the Thermacell unit.
 
Ronson will work....you have to carve a V in the tip first. I just used a steak knife and cut about 1/8 inch deep
