RCBS small base die issue

My ATI AR15 upper will not cycle cases that weren't fired in it before so I've got tons of brass laying around. I got a small base sizer for Christmas but every case gets stuck. Once fired Military and .223 brass. Is there a trick to these small base dies I don't know about? It'll cycle brand new brass all day long but I don't want to buy tons of new brass just for this rifle.

Not sure what kind of lube you use but I lubed mine twice when I ran then thru a small base die

Where do the cases get stuck, in the die or in the firearm. If in the die, I would clean the die thoroughly and I would recommend Imperial sizing wax to resize. If they 're sticking in the firearm then we need to look at our die set-up. More info is needed though.

I have the black box RCBS small base die for 223. You are probably trying to resize military brass and there is a good chance it is machine gun fired(MG's have chambers that are of necessity loose). You must use a good lubricant on your cases before you try to size. Some lubricants want a set up period of 5 or 10 minutes, check the instructions.

And 7inatree is correct, I have never seen cases that required the inside neck to be lubed like the .223.

Imperial Sizing Wax. There is no other lube

I am also a believer and have switched from spray lubes to the wax. Night and day difference. And a q-tip dabbed with wax into the neck of the case has helped with smoother sizing operation for me.
