Rattle question

Do you think it is worth trying around the weekend of muzzle loader? I have only tried it a couple times with no luck

Rattled in a mature buck 2 weeks ago. Opening day i had 2 small bucks sparring, so i thought why not?....and it worked

Was thinking about using my rattle back this coming weekend. Probably about 3-4 weeks out from good rut activity, so my thinking is the Bucks my be jockeying for position about now til then.

It may work this early. I wouldn't go all out in battle but some tickling might work. What's to lose?

When I hit the woods next weekend I will be light rattling and even putting out some scents. Bucks should be splitting up and scrapes popping up. With none of the does in estrus it puts these bucks in a very vulnerable position. They will come and investigate. Of course your position and wind are key. There are a lot of bucks that respond to horns but circle down wind to pick up our scent or look through the open woods to not see the deer they heard. Younger bucks are easily fooled. But mature bucks 4 or 5 in age aren't as reckless.

I also will be doing some light rattling this coming weekend if weather predictions are true already put some scent out in one spot to see if can get a few pics on camera
