This morning, during prime time, I heard a volley of three shots in what would be considered rapid fire. All I can say is that if our ancestors could have fired, loaded, fired, loaded, fired that quickly, there would have never been a need for repeating rifles. Its a shame that the man couldn't be within earshot and zero in on the source.

We heard several "rapid" shots yesterday as well. The trouble is that with out actually seeing the person hunting with the centerfire rifle for deer, all you have is speculation. They could have been Target shooting, small game hunting, predator hunting or hunting deer illegally with centerfire durring ML...hard to say which.

True, but time of day,and sequence of fire pretty much eliminates everything but shooting at a deer with a centerfire rifle. However, even if confronted, that kind of thing would be hard to prove, unless, of course they had a deer. And that sequence of shots rarely produces a deer in hand, even during the gun season.

Very true...Infact, one time hunting with my dad in Newberry, SC as a kid he taught me a lesson that I still have not forgot. We were perched up on a hill overlooking a pine clear-cut and heard three consecutive shots, Boom...Boom, Boom. Dad looks at me and says get ready, most of the time that is a clear miss and the deer will be running.

Sure enough a nice buck came boiling over the hill headed straight to us.

I can understand 2 shots from a double barrel, but three shots sounds fishy

or it could be three guys standing next to each other and each taking a shot. hahaaha

I hear milti fired rifle shots when bow and ML hunting all the time. This Saturday was one of the rare times I am sure I heard only ML shots, and not centerfire rifles being shot.

I hate to guess how many illegal hunters are killing deer.
What would our hunting quality be like, if everyone followed the law?
Sure would be a great thing, but it's not going to happen.
