Range results with the RRA

IMO they arent good enough for pics because I have a somewhat high standard in 100yd accuracy. 3/4" is the most I'll tolerate in any rifle I own. Anyway, the best group I got was about 1.5" with a 50gr NBT over 24.0 H335 in my 16" RRA. I guess for a black rifle 1.5" is pretty good but I know I can get better groups from this rifle.

I would try heavier bullets, my Dad's 22-250 would not shoot 50 gr bullets worth a flip, but it would shoot 55 gr bullets into tiny bughole groups.

Is it a 1/9 twist or a 1/7? the smk's may not stabilize very well from a 1/9.

They're right at the edge of stability for a 1/9 depending on the barrel. My 1/9 seems to like the Hornady 68 just a little better than the Sierra 69. I thought about trying some 75gr. bullets but figured I would just be throwing my money away because they likely wouldn't stabilize. I just finished shooting the last of my police hand-me-down once fired brass in my rifle and reloaded fifty with only neck sizing yesterday and will see if the 68 Hornady groups improve. The Hornadys are just a little cheaper than the Sierras so that doesn't hurt either. I just tried to order some more of the Hornadys from Midway yesterday but they were out of stock so I guess I'll have to wait two or three weeks until they get more. I hate to tell you this 444 but just a couple of weeks ago I bought the last box of Sierra 69 Match Kings that Benton Shooters had. If you snooze you lose. LOL!

I would use hornady's but they are higher than noslers nowdays.

Might look into the bulk 55gr FMJ offering from Midway...you'll be happy I assure :) Might also look into bulk pull-down powders and primers by the 5000 lot...no kidding my AR's get more range time and end up hotter than any weapon I own ;)

Im just gonna have to break down and order some 55+ bullets. The group I got at catchdawgs today was horrible. Maybe 2" at the best. This gun simply does not like 50gr NBT's any farther away than 50yd.
