Yesterday, while baling hay, I found a couple turkey eggs in the field. We always go around a nest if we find one, but these were just single eggs, a couple hundred yards apart. What's going on? Do hens just randomly drop an egg?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds like something raided a nest and got sidetracked or something and dropped them before they could bust them.
Just a guess though.

Yes, hens can and will randomly drop eggs. Either infertile, or a hen couldn't make it to her nest, and there are a handful of hens that just aren't cut out to be mothers... those just drop eggs at random or parasitize other hens nests.

Found this one last year.
